What's Parent & Family Weekend?

Parent & Family Weekend at Oregon State University is a biannual celebration designed to welcome families and friends of OSU students. The event is packed with a variety of activities, including fun events, engaging workshops, lively entertainment, campus tours, educational sessions, and numerous opportunities to connect with the OSU community.

During the fall event, you can enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery and participate in seasonal activities. The spring event offers a chance to experience the campus in full bloom and enjoy different activities tailored to the season.

Corvallis is a small town with limited hotels.  Many families find success in looking for housing in our surrounding towns of Albany, Lebanon, Philomath, Sweet Home, or Junction City.

Don't forget to look at alternatives to hotels, such as AirBNB, VRBO, or consider staying with a friend or family member nearby.

As you prepare to visit Oregon State, it’s essential to be aware of our parking regulations, especially on game days. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  • Game Day Changes: Parking rules differ significantly on Saturdays due to tailgating and other events. While many of our lots are typically free on weekends, Saturday will have specific restrictions. Be sure to read all posted signs in the parking areas to avoid any surprises. For a detailed view, please refer to the Game Day Parking Map.

  • Regular Parking: If you’re visiting on Friday of Family Weekend, make sure to check the Regular Parking Map for available options and regulations.

  • Metered Parking: Please note that metered parking spaces, like those in front of the Dixon Recreation Center, are always in effect. The free weekend parking does not apply here, so ensure to pay the meter to avoid fines.

  • Tow-Away Zones: Pay close attention to the red areas on the game day parking map. These are designated tow-away zones. Any vehicle parked there starting at 7:00 AM on game day will be towed, so please plan accordingly.
